3D Nemo Birthday Cake

This was my first attempt at a 3D cake, and my first attempt in working with Marshmallow fondant.

I was inspired by the cakes I saw on this site, and decided I would try my hand at it. I, like many others, started with the Wilton 3d Egg cake mold.

I used the Wilton concentrated food coloring.

Nemo’s fins are vanilla wafers, and I used Gel for the white and black on the tail. I wish I hadn’t used the black Gel on the eyes, you can see the result wasn’t very successful.

It took me approx. 10 hours, and most likley I wouldn’t attempt this again. It is a very sweet cake, but Yummy.
