My nephew loves baby Einstein so my sister of course chose baby Einstein as the theme for his first birthday party. She had thought about ordering a baby Einstein birthday cake but I decided I would try to make it.
I actually put the whole thing together the morning of the party. It took me about four or five hours to do. All the characters were made of fondant and the cake was also covered in white fondant. Everything was handmade and I just used some pictures of the characters to guide me through the process.

This Baby Einstein cake was for a first birthday. The bottom layer is pound cake with strawberry jam between the layers. The second and third tiers are yellow cake. I coated the cake in a heavy layer of buttercream frosting and then covered in a fondant. The animals are made from fondant.
