I create and make cakes for friends and family only. Having never taken classes I have relied on You tube videos to assist me with techniques. I have worked with Fondant dough and am feeling a little more comfortable working with it. We were discussing my daughter’s 18th birthday cake, when she presented me with ideas of the butter cream roses. I panicked as I usually avoid any piping work (until I have time too take some classes).
My daughter was adamant that I could do it. I searched the Internet and found a step by step video on how to pipe roses onto cupcakes and cakes and with a little practice, I finished her cake. She also wanted the two tone aqua roses so had to color different batched. The cake requested was white chocolate/Caramel 2 tier, the top tier is white chocolate as well as a fondant covered top tier.
Did you cover the base tier in fondant them cover with rose swirls??
