I made this Sneaker Cake for a teenage boy who collects basketball sneakers; his favorite at the moment was the Nike Ferris Hightop which is named and designed after the title character in the movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”.
I used 3 half sheet cakes, filled and stacked them, cut the basic shape of the sneaker then sculpted the rest. Lightly frosted with vanilla buttercream then covered with white fondant. I used black fondant and tinted white fondant for the details and handpainted the leopard print on the laces and tongue. Also handpainted the logo on the tongue tab. Yes, this cake was huge!
Not only was the cake delicious, it made my son’s birthday! As Stacy walked in with the cake, my son and his friends just dropped their jaws! They could not believe it. They just kept asking, “how did you do that?” One was even inspired to become a baker.
My son did not want to cut up the cake because it was so beautiful. But it was also delicious. All the kids and adults loved the cake! I would definitely recommend Miss Stacy for any cake desires and designs!
not only cool but amazing!
