Cool Homemade Eeyore Birthday Cake

I received a great tip from a friend of mine for making character birthday cakes. Find a picture of the character and blow it up to the size of the cake you want to make. Then use the picture as a template for the cake. That is exactly what I did for this Eeyore Birthday Cake!

I used two round cakes. I cheated with the cake itself. I bought a premix and it came out perfectly. I can definitely recommend doing this to take the stress out of making the cake and really enjoying the task. I cut the ears out of one and the face out of another. All the black on the cake is made out of licorice, the white of the eyes from marshmallows and the rest of the cake is iced with normal butter icing coloured with food colouring. The sprinkles and little flowers used inside the ears can be bought at your local supermarket.
