For this year’s Blue & Gold Banquet, I was commissioned to bake a Cub Scout cake. We have about 100 boys in our Pack, so I knew the cake was going to need to be big. I decided to create four square-shaped cakes and place them like the patches on the uniform.
A dilemma that I faced was which patch to leave out. The Pack Master and I decided to forgo a Bobcat badge and add the rest.
Each cake is made of one cake mix. There are two vanilla and two chocolate. The frosting is butter cream made from scratch. The artwork is all free-hand.
Each cake was placed on cardboard that I cut out to fit and then assembled onto a thicker board covered with foil.
I love this cake, very nicely done!!! Congrats!!! :) ~Lainie
what a great cake design!
What a nice job! I bet it was hard to cut into such a beautiful cake.
Would you be willing to share what colors you used for each of the cakes?
Thanks!
