this is my first attempt at a two tier cake. I made a 6inch and 8inch butter madeira cake, and dowelled the bottom tier ready for stacking. Then put the top tier on a cake card and placed it on top of the larger cake, Both these cakes had been layered, buttercreamed and covered in fondant icing.The roses were modelled without cutters from sugar paste. The 40th birthday party is for my niece and the event takes pace tomorrow. I hope she likes the cake!……its a surprise.
