My son is a big fan of Michael Jackson and I wanted to surprise him with a cake for his 10th birthday, just as unique as the late beloved ]op icon was. I was inspired by a jacket that my son has and wears, the infamous Zipper Jacket!
This Michael Jackson Beat It Jacket Cake was made with Marble Cake, double layered with chocolate fudge frosting inside and coated under the black fondant as well. Marshmallow Fondant colored with Wilton’s black frosting coloring, zippers made with adding just a little coloring to make a grey color.
To make zippers, I just pushed a zipper into fondant and made an impression of the zipper. Added zipper top made by hand. Then covered the grey shoulder pads with silver cake glitter to give a metal look. My son was amazed!
