This 1st birthday flower cake was made for a close family friend’s daughter. The family gave me free range with what to create, and every time I thought of this beautiful baby, I kept seeing the flowers they always have in her hair and knew I’d do a flower theme. This was very easy to assemble, deliver, and serve.
The cake itself was vanilla with butter cream frosting. I made a small 6in round cake (yellow) to be used as the baby’s smash cake. The flower petals (pink) are pull apart cupcakes made with a large star tip to give the effect of rose petals. Sprinkles were added to the cupcakes because what’s better on a cupcake than sprinkles? There were additional cupcakes for the guests which were placed around the cake board, but the picture here represents the main cake. Lastly, I added the green stem and leaves to complete the flower look!
The parents and grandparents were very happy with the outcome, and little Gianna had fun smashing her first birthday cake.
