My son is a big fan of dinosaurs so for his 7th birthday party I decided to try and make him this homemade Megasaurus cake. I used Wilton’s Megasaurus cake tin. I had to bake 2 cakes to make it high enough to look good and I was scared of slicing through the middle of one to fill with butter cream so thought making 2 was the ideal solution.
To decorate I used a leaf nozzle to pipe on the leaves, a star tip to pipe in the body, and an outline tip to outline the eyes, mouth, claws etc. The teeth were cut out of some rolled out icing, also the eyes, which were then painted with yellow colouring. I was really pleased with how it turned out and more importantly so was my son!! HE LOVED IT!!!
