I made this guitar cake for my granddaughter’s 7th Birthday, she loves Hannah Montana and the cake was a surprise. I started out making two half sheet cakes, two chocolate cake mixes and one strawberry cake mix per cake. I made the chocolate batter then swirled the strawberry through the chocolate, it was really good.
I froze one of the cakes and cut the guitar shape out of it. I added a half a cup extra vegetable oil to each cake mix, it makes more of a dense cake and it’s easier to maneuver and decorate.
To decorate I made yellow, pink and purple icing. I iced the bottom layer then put the still froze guitar shape on top and iced that cake with the yellow icing. I then outlined the letters H and M with a toothpick. I then decorated the guitar with a star tip, used a shell tip for the borders and a writing tip for the Happy Birthday.
