Coolest Topsy Turvy Cake

I made this cake for my sister’s birthday. The top of the cake was made from 2 six inch layered cakes. One of the layers cut to an angle with a serrated edge knife. The flavor was strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream icing and middle of the cake had a chocolate hazelnut filling.

The bottom was 2 ten inch layered orange cakes with a vanilla buttercream icing and filling. The outer icing was a marshmallow fondant colored pink with pink and blue decorations of flowers and leaves cutout. These were stuck on the cake using water to bond them. In addition royal icing was used for free style designs. I used gold luster dust as paint trims and gold beads.

Over all this cake was very simple to make and got a lot of compliments in the restaurant we celebrated at.
