Pirate Scene Cake

My son wanted a Peter Pan party for his 4th birthday, so my husband and I decided to make him a cake of Neverland.

We formed the island in to a pirate scene cake using a bunch of different pieces of cake. My husband carved a cake baked in a loaf pan into Hook’s ship. We made the masts out of wooden skewers and fabric. We had candy rocks and sand made from a mixture of sugars. I then finished it off with Peter Pan figures, as well as Indians and mermaids.

  1. Hello there from the UK! I’m about to make a Peter Pan cake for my son’s 4th birthday and he loves yours and wants a similar one. Can I ask what icing did you do for it? Is it buttercream icing that’s piped? I couldn’t quite see from the photo. Many thanks in advance!

  2. I love this cake! My kids love all of the Peter Pan movies. I have a peter pan figure set, but where did you get Nana, the dog, and Micheal (or Jon??) They do not come in set. I’m thinking it may have been in a happy meal set. I would love to find out! Very inspiring cake idea! We love it!!!
