This Skull birthday cake was made for my granddaughter Jasmyn’s tenth birthday. Needless to say, she loved it so much. She and her friends were in awe; they all wanted me to make their next birthday cakes. I was very happy with the way it turned out.
The cake consisted of three 10″ sq cakes; they were all chocolate with strawberry puree filling. I tinted the fondant with pink and black coloring.
Next, I cut one of the 10″ cakes to make the cross bones and covered it all with the pink fondant first and then added the details in black fondant. The hardest part was putting the flames on the ends without ruining the cake. I am still a beginner with fondant icing but it is really cool!
