The following cake is a chocolate cake stacked on top is also a chocolate cake. The bottom layer is covered in gold fondant (colored using golden yellow and white fondant). The top is covered in blue fondant (used premade blue fondant). The braides are made in contrasting colors by rolling thin strips and braiding. The letters are cut out of the remaining fondant. The eagle on top is the schools mascot. I cut the general shape and then painted the fondant by hand using wilton color tints and vanilla. The key is to put some color on a piece of wax paper and keep the vanilla seperate and just dip your brush in the vanilla and dab the tint on the paper until you get the desired consistency. The accents are held in place by using a little water on the back and placing it to dry.
