This Christmas snowflake cake is a traditional fruit cake that I covered in marzipan, but you could use any type of cake. I then dyed fondant icing a pale turquoise colour (to resemble a glacier look) and covered the cake with it.
I then brushed it with a moistened brush and dusted it with white polished sugar. A few days previously I made all the snowflakes using fondant icing and a plunger snowflake cutter. I left them to harden and then sprayed them with a pearl lustre spray.
I stuck silver balls on the larger ones with writing icing. I then arranged the snowflakes around the cake sticking them on with white writing icing. I was really pleased with how this cake turned out.
