Our tradition is to use this Teddy Bear cake pan by Wilton for each of our children’s 2nd birthdays. My daughter’s birthday is near Valentines Day, so we decided to do a “Valentine Bear” party theme. Party decorations were easy with valentines day coming up!
I baked two teddy bear cakes and stacked them on top of each other for this Valentine Bear Cake. I made the heart first. I used a heart-shaped cookie cutter to make an impression in the cake, then outlined it and filled it in with pink icing. I smoothed it out using cornstarch on my finger. I followed the lines on the cake pan for the bear’s face and paws.
For the rest of the bear, I used buttercream icing, tinted brown, but you could easily ice the whole bear with chocolate frosting, if you like that better!
This was a super easy cake! I love Wilton cake pans!
