This cake is really easy to make for those who aren’t that creative. My daughter was 2 and I wanted to make a night garden cake.
Firstly you need to make a simple sponge cake although I made a chocolate one.
6oz of caster or brown sugar
6oz of butter/marg
6oz of self raising flour
3 eggs
1 generous table spoon of hot chocolate powder/cocca
1. Cream sugar and butter together
2. stir in eggs
3. Add flour and chocolate powder mix well
4.split mixture into 2 cake tins
5. bake for 15-20minutes
For cream filling
3oz of butter/marg
8oz of icing sugar
cream together add chocolate powder if desired.
once cakes have cooled cover one top of cake with jam then add cream filling sandwich the cakes together.
I brought ready made icing , which I rolled out. Cover the cake with the icing trimming away any excess. I brought pink ribbon to go around the cake. Decorate cake with flowers which I stuck on with a small amount of icing. Then I stuck on the figures, finally I use piping icing to spell out her name, then put in candle(s).
Place cake in the fridge to cool for 2 hours before serving.
