The Elmo Birthday Cake Idea was a full baby Elmo sculpted out of rice-crispy treats, covered in red icing used from a “furr or grass tip”. He was playing with blocks that said Happy Birthday Aiden and he was holding a block that had a #1 on the front of it. He was sitting on top of a large square cake that was yellow and right underneath him and hanging over the edges was a blue thin sheet of fondant made to look like a blue rug or blanket with blue fringe.
Such a wonderful idea and gorgeous cake. Job well done!
you did a great job, the cake looks amazing, i would love to do one for my daughter that is turning 2, she loves Elmo but dont know if i am that creative. thanks i might at least have to try
Thank you ladies!
*Gail, you should definitely give it a try! The only thing I would say to make sure to do…is make the rice krispy “sculptures” (Elmo, blocks etc.) atleast 3-4 days ahead of time. That way, when they dry and become hard…you can actually use a small paring knife and clean up the edges…it doesn’t have to be completely perfect, because they will be covered in fondant and/or icing. I used the grass tip for Elmo’s fur and although it was time consuming, it really made him look real! Good luck! And if you have any questions, feel free to ask! :)
