I wanted my caterpillar to stand up. I cut a round styrofoam wreath form in half, then cut one of the halves in half. I used a wooden dowel to put the fourths onto the right and left sides of the half-circle. I then wrapped the S-shaped styrofoam with wide clear tape. I then put cake donuts over the form to create the “humps”. I used 2 donuts for the head, using icing to hold them together. I iced the donuts and stuck the caterpillar to a green styrofoam base with skewers to make it stand. I used chocolate icing to make the feet. I then decorated the styrofoam base with silk grass, butterflies and flowers.
