I made this Star Wars Light Saber cake for my son’s surprise 7th birthday party.
It was created using about a dozen Twinkies and store-bought canned white frosting. I used a very large cutting board, covered with wax paper, as the plate. I used food coloring to create the different colors of icing. It was easy to make and did not involve any special tools or accessories; in fact, I used plastic sandwich bags, clipped at one corner, to squeeze the black icing out. This icing was used for the outline, details on the handles, and the message. The hardest part was trying not to get one icing color mixed with another!
thanks for the cool and easy idea!!
I hope I can get the colors right for the icing.
I really love the way your saber shapes look.
many blessings.
We are going to attempt it! Looks tough but with easy ingredients!
Using your cake as a guide for my Grandsons light Saber birthday cake. Thanks for all of the great ideas here!
This is neat, my sons 5th birthday is coming up and he is all about some star wars. He seen that I made his three year old brother a buzz light year cake. So he wanted a Light-saber one. I was getting worried that I would not be able too. But this is a perfect idea. Cool work..cant wait to start it.
So simple with ingredients and supplies I can find in a small town! Thanks!
I plan on making this for my sons birthday, but what size is your cake?
