Coolest Truck Cake

I have a very busy little boy, so for his first birthday we wanted his cake to look like a truck cake. I was going for the look of a real truck that he could push and drive so this is what I came up with.

My husband helped me with the windshield angle so it looked more realistic and the donuts worked perfect for the tires. I used one regular loaf pan and one mini loaf pan and cut the pieces to the right shape and size. (The ends of the loaf pan work great for the cab!) Then frosted it in light blue and used the decorative icing for the outline, grill and wipers. We used yellow and red skittles for the headlights and taillights.

You could really accessorize this cake even more and make it any theme. We thought about putting the little candy corn pumpkins in the back since his birthday is in the fall, but decided there was enough sugar for him without those!
