I used a Wilton 3D locomotive train cake for engine and multiple loaf pans for various cars. I shortened one loaf pan and stacked it on the top middle of the “short” loaf – making a “caboose” effect. For the smoke stack – I used an ice cream cone and iced it up like a soft-serve ice cream cone. MY SON LOVED LOVED LOVED this feature…he goes nuts over “ice cream cones” now every time he sees them, it was so funny – he would pull it out of the cake, eat on it then set it back in the hole. DAYS worth of entertainment out of this one.
Beauty is – he could do this – and others could eat the other cars of the train. I made some chocolate, some white, etc. Was a total hit. The clowns (a personal fave of MINE)…and plastic balloon clusters, added personality and whimsy.
