This is the second skidoo I have made, different model this time. I started this Arctic Cat Snowmobile cake by making 2 9 x 13 cakes, cut and stacked the pieces to get the basic shape.
I froze the cake, then carved away leaving the front wider than the seat area. I covered in butter cream then fondant adding details in the stitching in the seat area, the track wheels, the lights and decals. Shaped and let the skis dry overnight, shaped the windshield, applied to cake and stuffed with cotton balls to hold the shaped until it dried overnight.
Also shaped and let the handle bars dry. In the morning I applied all the “snow” and attached the skis and handle bars and the mirrors to the dried windshield. It takes a lot of patience and attention to detail, studying lots of pics of the skidoo.
Great cake…but an Arctic Cat is NOT a Skidoo.
It’s like saying a Chevy is a Ford.
