This homemade Army Tank cake was made for my son’s seventh birthday.
I used three cake mixes. I made two 9″ x 13″ rectangular cakes, and one loaf pan cake which had a little extra batter left over. I frosted between each layer, and stacked the cakes with the loaf pan on top. I then frosted the whole thing with a light brown coating which I made by mixing store-bought chocolate and vanilla. Next, I made my colored frostings and just pieced it on to make the camo pattern.
On the top, I frosted a vanilla wafer and stuck it part way in to make the tank hatch. I used store-bought chocolate donuts down the sides, and a pirouette cookie for the cannon. I used his army guys to finish it off. It was a HUGE hit with the kids!!
