Bake two sheet cakes and two 5″ diameter round cakes for this Army tank cake. Cool. Layer sheet cakes and place chocolate frosting in between. Place one round cake in center. Trim second round to 3″ diameter and place on top of larger round, placing chocolate frosting in between. Cover and place in refrigerator to cool.
Cut tank shape out of cake. Frost (I used a white frosting colored with food coloring — almost full small bottle of green with red & yellow mixed in for darker army green look). Refrigerate to set frosting.
Decorate with chocolate wafers for tank tracks, chocolate donuts for wheels, and cookies for hatch holes and any sandbag decoration. Cannon is a Pirouette rolled wafer.
