We made this Homemade Jeep Birthday Cake for my son’s 14th birthday. He’s saving to buy a jeep and thought a jeep cake would be pretty cool.
We baked 2 chocolate 9×4 loaf cakes and one large sheet cake for the entire project. The 2 loaf cakes leveled and stacked together made the bottom half of the jeep and the sheet cake was cut to make the top half. The leftovers from the sheet cake were then used to build the terrain. Chocolate doughnuts were used for the tires and Hershey Kisses were used for the wheels. The front fenders were cut from thin cardboard, covered with fondant, and secured to the jeep with toothpicks. Everything else is fondant.
I cut a piece of foam board to make a kind of chassis for the cake to sit on and then made a rectangular box to place the chassis on. This provided plenty of support for the cake. Everything sits on a frosted piece of foam board that was sprinkled with crushed graham crackers. The terrain was built up using the extra sheet cake and then covered with crushed graham crackers and Oreo cookies. A few chocolate covered strawberry “rocks” were then placed randomly around the terrain.
This cake was a lot of fun to make and was a huge hit with everyone that saw it. If I were to do it again I would allow for a couple of extra hours just to get things a little more proportional and perfect.
That is AWESOME!! WOW that is really wonderful
and it looks like a wrangler!!

I hope I can make mine as nice as yours!!
