For my daughter’s 6th birthday, she wanted a soccer ball cake. Her birthday is in October so it was perfect timing for the Fall soccer season. I used the 3D Wilton ball pan.
I had recently given birth to my third child and work full-time, I used a box cake.
I decorated it with red, white & blue frosting. I colored some coconut green to resemble grass and covered the bottom of a round tray. I sat the ball cake in the center of the grass.
Needless to say, she was “psyched” about her cake and the guests were impressed!

Very cool cake. You said you used a boxed mix? I was wondering if you had any trouble with settling? I’ve heard you should use a pound cake mix to make it stiffer so it will hold up.
