This Soccer Dad’s Father’s Day Cake was for Father’s Day of ’09 and was a quick cake designed and done in about 2hrs the night before. It is a simple white (low-sugar) boxed cake mix baked in a 9×13 pan. I made the goals from bendable straws and tulle fabric (which I had lying around).
Each section of the ball is frosted using a small star tip in a twirl motion and the grass is green frosting covered with coconut tinted with green food coloring. “Happy Father’s Day” is written in marker and laminated using clear packaging tape.
