This Angry Birds birthday cake was my first cake that I actually decorated on my own. My mother used to make and sell cakes when I was a little girl and I was always fascinated by them. I decided to try it my self and it was a hit.
I am now up to four cakes a month in less than 4 months. I do struggle from time to time and my cakes are not perfect by any means. This cake was by far my easiest to complete. I used rice krispie treats to sculpt the cones on the head. It was a yellow cake with a whipped butter cream icing. My moms secret recipe!
This is a 2 layer cake with whipped butter cream filling. I love to put lots of icing on, so there is about one inch thick layer on the whole cake. I used Wilton coloring gel. I like it but goes to quick. I am in the process of looking and trying different coloring products.
Your cake is fantastic. I want to make the same for my sons upcoming birthday. How did you make the rice crispies that shape and is it possible to leak out your mums whipped butter cream icing recipe?. I’m a total novice in this field but was inspired so much by your cake because it looked simple yet so amazing!!
I just made the rice krispies into large egg shapes and stuffed them into the cake. Try butter confectioner sugar vanilla extract almond extract and whip it. If it is to sweet add some cream of tarter to it.
May I ask what you used to make the tail? You did a great job on this cake!
For the tail I just piped icing using the Wilton #5 tip. They took my paintbrush to flatten it out.

Love this cake! What size cake pan did you use? I’m assuming its a round cake pan? Also wondered what size tip you used for the two base colors? Not sure if I can tackle this or not but it is super cute!
