Coolest Baby Einstein Turtle Cake

My son loves little Einstein so we chose this turtle from the baby Einstein birthday cakes from this site.

We made a small circle pan, one large spring form pan and 12 cupcakes for this cake. First we put icing on the under belly (small circle pan) then cut and put icing on the cupcakes for feet and tail. We put the large shell on top of the feet and belly.

We iced the top and then made the head with three cupcakes. The first puffy side down then one cut in half and the last with puffy side up. Then using paper wrapped wire we wired it to the cake and iced the face. Make sure to have extra cupcakes on hand. I just iced it with basic butter icing.
