My son wanted a police/detective party. I searched for child birthday cakes ideas and came up with the idea of making a magnifying glass cake.
I took two round cakes and placed them on each other for the glass. I made a square cake and cut it in 3rds using 2/3rds for the handle. I frosted the glass white and waited for it to dry. I frosted the handle and the sides of the glass purple because it was my son’s favorite color.
I found a clip art of a finger print on Google’s images search. I used a small writing tip and black frosting and copied the fingerprint. I used a large piping tip for going around the edges of the glass and the handle so the edges looked good.
