I made this knitting and sewing cake for my mother-in-laws birthday. It consists of a two 10 inch layers of butter fudge chocolate cake and two layers of lemon poppy seed cake filled with lemon butter cream filling. I put it on a silver platter to make it easier to transport to their home. I then frosted the layers with white butter cream frosting and then applied two Floral Sugar Sheets Edible Decorating Paper which I think look like fabric which I also purchased at a local store.
I made the pin cushion, knitting needles and scissors out of molding candy melts. Then I made the buttons using the Fabric Fondant and Gum Paste Mold and purple, yellow, pink and orange Rolled Fondant Neon Colors Multi-Pack that I also purchased locally. I decorated the bottom and top edges with a reverse shell design. I made the pink knitting using a star tip and wrote her name and Happy Birthday in purple. My mother-in-law and father-in-law both loved the design, love and flavors of the cake.
