My daughter loves Tinkerbell and fairies and I really wanted to make the cake for her 4th birthday party myself. So I decided to make a chocolate cake with chocolate butter icing. I decorated it in a spring theme with bright flowers, ladybirds and butterflies and then bought some small figures of Tinkerbell and her friends to put on it.
For the top tier I made a vanilla sponge and covered it with vanilla butter cream icing and some edible silver glitter to make it look wintery and sparkly. I added put white and pale pink flowers around it and Periwinkle on the top. I also decorate the cake stand with ribbon and butterflies.
Children were so excited and my daughter loved it. Also meant the children got a choice between chocolate cake or vanilla which meant everyone was happy.
