I made this Fisher Price Rain Forest baby shower cake for my neighbor’s baby shower. She didn’t know what she wanted, so I asked about her baby room theme, and she was getting the rain forest theme for her soon to be baby boy. I got her a cradle swing so I had examples of the little animals and also got the pics of the quilt from the web to do the cake design. I love to do freehand work. It is time consuming, it’s like drawing in frosting! I love to have a theme to work with and these characters were really cute!
I baked a half sheet white cake, (I add sprinkles to the batter before I bake it to give the white added color) and butter cream frosting. I use a variety of paste food colors and Wilton tips. The cake looks flat but it is actually raised and detailed.
