My son was turning 5 and he wanted a Ninja Turtle cake. I usually don’t make my own birthday cakes, so I found a design I liked and modified it for my son’s party. I made a total of 4 round cakes and stacked 2 on top of each other and iced them with vanilla icing and green food coloring. For the masks I used red and blue food coloring in vanilla icing to get purple and used a Wilton icing tip to outline the mask.
For the eyes and mouth I used brown “cupcake icing” you get at the store. The cupcakes were iced green and I used the purple from the masks to write “TNT” (Teenage Ninja Turtles). My son loved the cakes and was so excited when I made them for him. All of the party guests said the cakes looked great! I think for my first time decorating a cake, everything went well.
