My daughter wanted a jungle themed party so I designed this jungle party birthday cake for her. It’s decorated with marshmallow fondant. Her cake last year was sky blue so I decided to do something different and made it a nighttime scene.
The background color actually fades from black to purple, though I accidentally covered the prettiest part of the gradient when I was seeing how the leaves fit and they got stuck down where I was holding them. I found a YouTube tutorial for ombre fondant to fade the colors together and that was a lot of fun to do. I drew the animals out on card stock and cut those out to use as templates.
The rest was done with cookie cutters, shaped sprinkles, or forming shapes by hand. It was so much fun to make! My biggest problem was getting water drops on the fondant while attaching other pieces but corn starch took care of most of it.
