I made this 1st birthday cake for my god-daughter so I wanted it to be special and cute for her! I used a 9×13 sheet pan. I started by crumb coating the cake then colored butter cream icing the colors I would be using.
I then took a toothpick to draw a line separating the cake into boxes. I iced the green, purple and yellow parts first. I then outlined the top and bottom of cake with a zigzag border in pink icing using a star tip.
For the butterflies, flowers and #1, I traced them with as toothpick then filled them in with a star tip. I used pink icing with a round tip for the message. I was so excited to make this cake for my very special god-daughter! I also made her a Minnie mouse smash cake.
