I wanted to make my own Safari Shower Cake for my baby shower. I used simple butter yellow cake mix and store bought white frosting. The animals are wooden and felt that I purchased at Michael’s craft store. I made two round 8″ cakes and a 9″ square cake. I simply frosted the cakes white and piped store bought green gel on as “grass”.
I then stuck in the animals, which I had glued onto craft sticks. I then placed the flowers directly into the cake. The monkey was glued onto a piece of fake plant, also from Micheal’s. I put a hole into a cardboard box, stuck the length of flat plant into the hole, glued on the mini plastic palm tree, and arranged it behind the other cakes on a cardboard cake plate.
It only took about 2 hours (minus the baking) but was a HUGE success at my baby shower!
Very Creative and Cute!
