Coolest Frog with a Crown Birthday Cake

My granddaughter wanted a frog cake for her 3rd birthday party. I tried to convince her that a frog cake is more suitable for a boy, but she insisted on a frog cake. Then we decided to make her party theme “The Princess and the Frog”.

I couldn’t get a frog cake tin, then I copied a picture of a frog, baked 2 packets of cake mix in a big rectangular oven tray and cut and pasted the frog out according to the picture. I made butter icing in bright green and bright pink using gel food coloring and white margarine. I iced the frog green and outlined it in pink. Then I put a small crown on its head. The eyes and toes I made with pink and brown Smarties. I put 3 white flower candles with green leaves from a icing tube and green and pink plastic frogs at the bottom of the cake. She was very pleased and everybody thought it to be a very nice girl’s birthday cake.
