I had a friend ask me to make a cake for her son’s first birthday cake. She gave me the colors and the design she wanted. From there, I came up with the 1/2 sheet cake frosted with butter cream (I used 1/2 real butter and 1/2 shortening).
I wanted to do something different so I came up with just placing rolled white fondant on top of the cake, this is where everyone wrote their “Best Wishes” to the birthday boy in edible markers. It turned out to be a great hit.
