Cool Homemade ONE Birthday Cake

This is the cake that I made for my daughters 1st Birthday.

I actually had one like this made by a friend of the family for my 1st Birthday and thought that it was a lovely idea for my daughter to have the same.

Also we had a crazy amount of people coming to her birthday. Also wanted something different to the number 1.

I made a stencil of the word ONE just by enlarging the letters on Word and then printing them out.

Then I baked large slabs of butter cake and cut the letters N & E out of the cake but for the letter O I used a ring cake tin.

Once they were cut I wrapped them in glad wrap and put them in the freezer for about 1 hour so that when I went to put the butter icing on I wouldn’t get all the crumbs.

Then they were iced with butter icing and placed on a large board and then used smarties to cover the tops of each cake.

I was really pleased with how it turned out and will remember it always. And enjoyed making it heaps!!
