Easy Homemade Baby Face Cake Design for a Baby Shower

I made this Baby Shower Cake Design for my sister’s baby shower. I used a traditional box cake and then shaped it to look like a head. I dyed regular white icing for the flesh. Once I was done icing the cake, I dyed the left over icing a little darker in order to make the nose and inner ears. After that I added a little more red to the batch of leftover icing and placed it on the cake for the baby’s cheeks.

After placing the cheeks, I dipped my finger in water and rubbed the reddish color to blend it in to that area and make the cheeks smooth. The eyes are made with a blue glitter gel icing and then for the mouth I cut a little slit in the cake and placed in a binkie.

My sister loved the cake, and it was one of the more fun and easy cakes I’ve made.
