I made this Homemade Castle Birthday Cake Design for my daughter’s 4th birthday. She loves princesses and wanted a castle cake. I looked all over and found the most ideas from all the different castles on this website. It’s all ideas and everyone seems to be good at something and everyone looks like they really wanted to make the cake for someone. That’s the important thing!
The bottom level is 2 yellow cakes with basic vanilla butter cream in between and covered with fondant from marshmallows and powdered sugar. top round level is orange cake two high with the same vanilla butter creme and covered in the same pink fondant.
The towers I definitely got from this site and cooked the bottoms with the orange cake in them to add weight then chocolate dipped them to prevent moisture from the cake from making them soggy! Dipped the tops in chocolate as well and rolled in sprinkles. I think most of the towers on this site were that way and they turned out good. I used a couple pieces of dowel rod to secure the towers to the cake. Chocolate bar for the door and steps to the front door and then threw down a few rows of blue icing for the moat and to set off the pink color of the castle.
My daughter loved it and everyone at the party loved the look and devoured the cake! Thanks to coolest-birthday-cakes.com for such a great repository of ideas!
