I decided to take on the task of making my cousin a diaper cake because I love the way they look and they always get so much praise at the showers. My cake consists of around 80 to 90 size 1 plain white diapers. I used a cardboard cake board as the bottom of the cake. My cousin decided not to use her diapers and just to keep it for decoration, so I used hot glue to glue a paper towel roll in the center of thee card board cake board to get started.
Then I started rolling diapers and instead of putting rubber bands around them I hot glued them together, that way they would stay better and I wouldn’t have to worry with covering rubber bands later. After I finished each tier I started decorating the cake with ribbon and just different baby shower favors I had picked up here and there.
This was my first attempt at a diaper cake but I have to say I thought it turned out looking pretty good and I was very proud of myself.
