Cool 1st Birthday Caterpillar Cake

I made this Caterpillar cake for my daughter’s first birthday, and it was a big hit. I used the Wilton ball pan and made 3 different batters and then laid them out on the board before decorating.

Once I got them organized to the way I wanted I decorated them with The Wilton coloured gel tints for the icing. For her name and butterfly I used pipe cleaners and formed them into shapes, before putting them on wooden sticks and inserting them into the cake.

Thanks to all the others that have posted their photos on this site. I was inspired to step outside the box and create something fun! I will not go back to buying sheet cakes for future birthdays.
