I made these individual mini princess cakes for my daughter’s fifth birthday. She wanted a princess party so I thought I’d make a separate princess cake for each girl attending the party.
I bought nine little dolls (Barbie brand) at Walmart. They were the perfect size and already came with a tiara. For the skirts, I baked nine golden butter cakes using the Wilton mini wonder mold Pan. Once the cakes were cooled I dirty iced them with white buttercream and put them in the fridge for about a half hour while I made marshmallow fondant.
I covered each princess in a different color fondant. I wrapped saran wrap around each doll from the waist down and stuck them into each cake. I added little edible pearls around the waist to cover the gap between doll and cake. Then I decorated with little pearls and tiny fondant flowers that I punched out. The girls and moms absolutely loved them!
To complement the princess’ I made a castle cake for the moms to enjoy.
Wow! These are amazing! I would love to be able to think of something like that.
Great cakes. I just love them.
That was a great idea! I think I’ll make some of them for my niece’s 4th birthday party.
To add to the princess theme…I had my 13
niece dress up as a fairy God mother to greet
the guest at the door, present the girls with a
tiara and wand, took pictures with the girls and help with the makeovers, jewelry making and
games as well. It was a big hit!
Can you tell me what you baked the cake batter in? I plan on trying my hand at this…:)
Can you tell me where you got the mini princess barbies? Thanks so much!
