Easy Homemade Barbie Cake

This Barbie cake was made for my beautiful grand-daughter Tara. She really didn’t have a theme for her party, so after looking through the cakes on this site, I decided to do a Barbie cake.

I made the base out of a 9″ by 13″ sheet cake pan. Barbie’s dress was made from a small bundt cake pan. When I started to insert Barbie, she was to tall. I had to remove her legs to sit her in the cake. I covered her torso in glad wrap and sat her in the center.

The icing is all buttercream that I colored with paste food coloring. I used chocolate cake mix from the box to make the cake. This was my first Barbie cake and I really enjoyed doing it. It was a really simple cake and my grand-daughter loved it.
