I made this Princess Birthday Cake for my daughter’s 4th birthday. This was for a Princess tea party and my daughter wanted Aurora as the princess. I used a store bought cake mix and baked the cake in a Pampered Chef batter bowl for 1 hour & 15 minutes, then turned it upside down when cool. I should have used 2 cakes instead of one because the princess skirt wasn’t quite long enough and the doll started to lean backwards!
The Pampered Chef website has a good recipe using two mixes with their batter bowl for a princess cake. I used one of her dolls for the chest and head. I wrapped the doll’s legs tightly in saran wrap before inserting into the top of the cake.
You can buy a doll pick at a craft store if you want to avoid the mess. I used store bought white icing and tinted it into two different shades of pink with gel food coloring and lots of pink sugar sprinkles to hide any mistakes. The girls loved it and it wasn’t that difficult to do!
I just started baking my first Barbie cake and checked your posting and it helped me out a ton. Thanks!
