I decorated this Princess Barbie Birthday Cake using only a butter knife, plastic sandwich bag and paper towel. I used two different sized glass Pyrex bowls for the dress part and a standard cake round for the base.
I applied the buttercream frosting with a butter knife then put it in the refrigerator for an hour to let the frosting harden. I used the paper towel trick to smooth the frosting all over, re-refrigerating if the frosting started to stick. I used a sandwich baggie with a corner cut off to do the loops and swirls with candy ‘pearls’ to finish it off.
My daughter loved it and I didn’t have to buy any special equipment.
